Benevolo

Benevolo was born to a small farming family within the province of Red Seed, located within Smithmark. Benevolo lived a quiet and peaceful youth. He lived simply, passing the time by helping around the farm, practicing combat and listening to tales of great heroes and adventures. It was from these stories that Benevolo drew the inspiration to, himself, become a hero. Benevolo also had a little sister, 4 years younger than him.

At the age of 17, Benevolo left home to become a hero. Benevolo remains unaware that, 3 weeks later, his family's farm was burnt down and his parents killed. His little sister survived the attack and her whereabouts are currently unknown.

It was not long before Benevolo met with Venganza's party, with whom Benevolo quickly bonded. After grouping up, they set off on a mission from the mayor to slay a dragon. Benevolo and Venganza's party was succesful in killing the dragon, which was still in its infancy, and their group collected the spoils of their kill: some gold and 5 crowns, which were identified as cursed, however not before the party had already adorned the crowns.

After travelling further with the group, Benevolo took note that he, among the rest of the party, began to hear whispers within their minds (the party quickly related this to the crowns). During his team's travels, Benevolo was suprised and disgusted by the group's reluctance to get along and cooperate. After numerous events that Benevolo's psyche could barely withstand, the group was forced into combat. After slaying one of the rat-people, Benevolo's crown communicated with him and sent him into temporary insanity.

Benevolo awoke much later in pitch black. Unable to escape, Benevolo conversed and negotiated with the voice of the crown. Seeing no other option, Benevelo succumbed to the will of the crown in exchange for freedom: Benevolo opened his mind to the voice in exchange for his freedom. When Benevolo awoke once more, he found that he had no control over his body and that he was possessed by a terrible dark and malevolent entity (now known to be Darkness) and is currently watching in terror as he views first hand the treachary he is causing. Today, Benevolo is still trapped within his own body, watching as Darkness wreaks havoc upon the world.
